The role is Outside IR35 and primarily remote, with 2-3 days per month onsite in Newcastle for workshops and key meetings.
Key Responsibilities:
- Requirement Gathering & Analysis: Work with business and technical stakeholders to capture, document, and refine business and system requirements.
- Process Mapping & Improvement: Identify inefficiencies and recommend improvements to business and technical workflows.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Facilitate workshops and meetings to bridge the gap between business needs and technical solutions.
- Data & Digital Transformation: Contribute to the development of digital and data strategies, ensuring alignment with business goals.
- Documentation & Reporting: Produce detailed user stories, functional specifications, and business cases.
- Collaboration: Work alongside Product Owners, Developers, Data Engineers, and UX teams to deliver end-to-end solutions.
- Regulatory Compliance: Ensure solutions align with GDS (Government Digital Service) standards and other relevant policies.
Essential Skills & Experience:
For Non-Technical Business Analysts:
- Strong experience in business analysis within government, public sector, or large-scale organisations.
- Expertise in process modelling, gap analysis, and user journey mapping.
- Strong stakeholder management and ability to translate business needs into actionable requirements.
- Experience working in agile environments with multidisciplinary teams.
- Ability to create user stories, acceptance criteria, and business cases.
For Technical Business Analysts:
- Strong experience in data-driven projects and working with technologies like Databricks, Quantexa, and Tableau.
- Experience translating complex data and system requirements into clear business and functional requirements.
- Knowledge of data governance, data integration, and cloud platforms (e.g., Azure, AWS).
- Understanding of APIs, data flows, and system integrations within large-scale organisations.
- Exposure to SQL, data modelling, or analytics tools is a plus.
Desirable Skills
