The work will be primarily remote, with occasional travel required for workshops or team gatherings to Birmingham, Manchester or Coventry.
Key Responsibilities:
- Product Strategy & Roadmap: Define and implement the product vision, ensuring alignment with business and user needs.
- User-Centred Approach: Work closely with User Researchers, UX Designers, and Business Analysts to develop intuitive and accessible services.
- Agile Delivery: Lead Agile teams, ensuring efficient delivery within government service standards.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborate with internal teams, senior stakeholders, and external suppliers to deliver product outcomes.
- Backlog Management: Own and prioritize the product backlog, balancing user needs, technical feasibility, and business goals.
- Compliance & Governance: Ensure products adhere to GDS service standards, accessibility requirements, and security policies.
Essential Skills & Experience:
- Proven experience as a Product Manager in the public sector.
- Strong understanding of GDS service standards and Digital Service Assessments (DSA).
- Experience working in Agile, multidisciplinary teams in government projects.
- Excellent stakeholder management, with the ability to influence and align priorities.
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to balance user needs, policy requirements, and technical constraints.
- Data-driven mindset, using analytics and user feedback to inform decisions.
